La Aroma De Cuba
La Aroma de Cuba is as exciting to smoke as it is to view. The wrapper is made from carefully
chosen dark Cuban seed Honduran tobacco with plenty of oils and sheen. The filler is a blend of rich Cuban seed Nicaraguan
and Honduran tobaccos and the binder is Honduran. La Aroma de Cuba has an enticing aroma and is a medium to full strength
cigar. It draws easily and offers a big, enchanting flavor delivered smoothly with lots of finesse.
The packaging is truly extraordinary. Utilizing original Cuban artwork with several modifications
and enhancements, the dress box is simply gorgeous with its extensive gold embossing and rich colors.
La Aroma de Cuba was a turn of the century brand made famous in part by Winston Churchill
who characterized the cigar as one of his favorites. The new La Aroma de Cuba is completely different but once smoked, its
flavor and aroma will remind you of a taste from another era.

Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Legend is the newest cigar in this
well-known brand from Honduras, announced at this year's IPCPR trade show. This new cigar pays homage to the brand's pedigree
with a decidedly regal name and full flavor.
As the boldest expression of Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur, Legend begins when spicy Nicaraguan
tobacco from the mainland is paired with a proprietary tobacco from Nicaragua's remote volcanic island of Ometepe and blended
with a powerful Dominican ligero. Bound with a bold Connecticut Havana Seed leaf, Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Legend dons
the same lush, well-oiled Connecticut Havana leaf that won praise for Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Dark Knight.
Cooper Gardiner, vice president of marketing comments,
"Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Legend is tailor made for the tenured smoker who can appreciate the bold notes of full-flavored
tobaccos. The new Legend is in keeping with the growing demand for full-bodied cigars that smoke smoothly and effortlessly
and we are confident that Legend has all the makings of a consumer favorite."
Cigar Master Daniel Nunez has done a masterful job at blending these stand-out tobaccos into a
cigar that flaunts its balanced taste. Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Legend opens with unabashed flavor, and draws evenly into
a rich, spicy smoke. Its aroma is reminiscent of that of the base brand, spiked with a bold taste and aroma that promotes
the cigar's Nicaraguan components.
| Nub Theory | | | What is Nub?
Oliva Cigar Co. and a former company sales rep have introduced a cigar innovation that is creating
tremendous buzz. The rep is Sam Leccia, who covered Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania for Oliva since 2004. Sam came from the
liquor industry where he was a partner in an award winning vodka. After learning from the Oliva family how cigars are
rolled in Esteli, Nicaragua, the Oliva family and Sam created “nubs”, which is a concept that seeks to deliver
only that most enjoyable part of the cigar. The idea for the nubs came from the theory that a cigar finds its “sweet
spot” at the 3 ½- 4 inch point. All “nub” cigars must exist within this window. No “nub” is
longer than 4 inches. Further adding to this complex theory, the ring gauges range from 56-66. The result is a range of smokes
that have the same amount of tobacco as any Churchill or even Presidente. Unbelievably, they also smoke as long. Sam
and Jose Oliva began experimenting with the concept in mid 2007. After hearing the sizes the no-nonsense Oliva Family was
initially skeptical. The idea of a 4x60 or 4x66 sounded like a novelty to them. It was not until the family tested the concept
and was able to see and smoke them that they understood that this was no novelty. They realized that there in fact was something
that had not been done in this business. It is truly an innovation which has the ability to have one revisit wrappers that
they may have had long since formed opinions about. Understanding that not everyone is in love with large ring gauges, you
have to first grasp the theory of “nub” because in the world of “nubs” a 60 is not a large ring gauge.
The only real way to understand it is to smoke one. The cigar starts at the sweet spot and gets better from there. The large
ring gauge allows for a dense ash which insulates the cigar keeping it cool as you smoke. The large amount of smoke also allows
you to really enjoy the complex flavors. Sam’s excitement really grew on the Oliva’s as they began to experiment
with the concept. After experimenting with hundreds of sizes and samples they felt ready to support the project. While the
cigar is made and distributed by Oliva, it will be promoted by Sam Leccia. The cigar will be launched in three wrappers:
Habano, Cameroon, and Connecticut. There will be three sizes shared by all wrappers plus an additional size which is unique
to each wrapper. The flavor range is from mild to full but always complex and hearty. |

A Little Punch History Established in 1840 and intended for the British market – where a comic
book featuring a character named “Mr. Punch” was in fashion – Don Manuel López, owner of the J. Valle y
Cía, established the Punch cigar brand. The comedian Mr. Punch, who wore an unmistakably sly smile and who always had a cigar
in his hand, still adorns the box decoration of these outstanding Cuban cigars.
The
Punch cigar soon became a Habano of indisputable quality in the marketplace. The tremendous popularity of Punch cigars amongst
the British also trapped Sir Winston Churchill who gave into the temptation to visit the Monte y Zulueta factory during his
stay in Havana. The British statesman ended up giving his name to a size of this brand.
All the Punch cigars boast strong aromas of mainly fruity and woody tastes.
